Work of art?
Miley Cyrus made the top stories again with yet another photo scandal. The so-called "inappropriate" portraits were taken by legendary photographer, Annie Leibovitz. These pictures were supposed to be artistic and beautiful, dressing Cyrus in minimal clothing and makeup.

Homecoming
My deepest apologies to all my devoted fashion slaves. I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while. Let's just say things were getting a little hectic in my personal life. But now I'm back, so let's throw a party. Tomorrow I'll have a new report, maybe even more.
Keep checking. I've missed you!

Signature This!
Style Queen reader, Cammie, tells us that her signature pieces are brightly colored scarves!
"I love all my silk scarves because they are so versatile and timeless, I can find a way to wear them with any outfit." -Cammie, CA
There's about a million, trillion ways you could wear a scarf (I'm sure). Whether it's in your hair, tied as a bracelet on your wrist, on your neck, looped in your purse, worn as a belt, or whatever! Cammie's right, they are so versatile. You can't go wrong with a trendy silk scarf, so why don't you buy one yourself?
buy it at Saks Fifth Avenue
buy it at Neiman Marcus

Cheat The Uniform Code
Wish your school uniform looked as good as the ones on the CW's hit TV series, Gossip Girl? I swear, the show makes dressing for school actually look fun!
You know, it can be. Just gotta know what you're doing, that's all. But don't worry, I'm here to help you.
Here's some tips on what YOU can do to stand out in your school crowd:
1. Work the hair. Don't roll out of bed in the morning and sloppily tie your hair into a bun. Where's the originality? You'll probably look like every other ragamuffin creeping around your school at those early hours. Even if you're going for that "just rolled out of bed" look, it takes time. Style it right, tease it, curl it, crimp it, whatever! Dress your hair up with pretty headbands and delicate little hair clips. It should also flow with your accessories.
2. Brighten your day. Wear brightly colored shirts under your polos or blouses, go for the layered look! Also accessorize your sweaters and shirt colors with timeless brooches and pins, just make sure they're classy and NOT tacky.
3. Tied down. Look bussiness-chic with a men's tie. Dress it loosely around your neck and pick them out in an array of fun colors and patterns. Don't be afraid of originality.
Trend Alert
Keep on the lookout for vibrant, eye catching colored denim this season. They're fun loving, youthful, and sure to make a statement! Check them out:
buy them at Urban Outfitters
buy them at Victoria's Secret
buy them at Neiman Marcus
Make Me Up
Heavy liner during the daytime hours can look like you're trying too hard--so it's best to avoid it. Instead, use your favorite natural color eye shadow and smudge it around your eye, gently, creating the smokey eye effect.
Plus, a brown or black eye liner (depending on skin tone) could be used on the top lid only, making you appear more naturally beautiful.

Coco Chanel
(August 19, 1883 - January 10, 1971) Believe it or not, Coco was not born into sophisticated lifestyle of easy livinig like you'd expect this style icon to be. In fact, she wasn't even born into the name! Before becoming Coco Chanel, she was Gabrielle Chanel, the daughter of a poorhouse family in the late 1800s. The name Coco was later coined during a brief career as a cafe and concert singer, held for about three years.
Coco found her nitch in fashion later on in life, after becoming the mistress to a military officer and English industrialist. She opened small shops and sold hats, which became surprisingly popular. And the rest, you could say, is history.
Coco broadened her horizons and found inspirtation through her everyday life. She worked with couture, mannish clothing, short skirts, cardigan jackets, bell bottoms, pea coats, and film costumes. Chanel is the designer responsible for the sensational Little Black Dress Phenomenon and is the maker behind the famous Chanel No. 5 scent.
I Want You
Let individuality reign!
I want you, yes you, to send me your style story! So please include a picture of you in your favorite outfit and tell me just why it is your favorite. Or, just send me (on my email: stylequeenxo@live.com) a picture of you in your favorite item of your wardrobe and the interesting story behind it. Whether you bought it at a thrift store on Main Street or in the Hamptons on vacation. I want to hear it.
Style Secrets
1. Break the rules.
That is probably the most important rule of fashion. People who follow the trends are BORING! I mean seriously, this is something more than just clothes--it's self expression! So show the world what you got and don't be afraid to experiment. Otherwise, you can kiss your fashionable life goodbye. Because you won't be getting anywhere.
